Praise for Stronghold climbing boulders
We are a not-for-profit organization focused on connecting people of all ages and abilities to recreational opportunities here in Big Sky, and our boulder garden fabricated by Stronghold in the Community Park does exactly that. The various boulders provide an exceptional experience for the novice to the expert climbers, in a beautiful location that is loved by both locals and visitors to our community.
The boulders have been a unique asset to the city parks. The user group ranges from little kids all the way up into senior citizens. You can get as technical and as hard as you want, or you can back off and do an easy climb. It’s a very unusual playground.
Montana State University wanted to work with a local fabricator who was creative and knowledgeable about climbing to create our first on-campus bouldering rock. Stronghold Fabrication proved to be the right choice to help us design and build, through a collaborative process with students, faculty and staff, a custom boulder for the university. Pat Wolfe, co-owner of Stronghold Fabrication, worked closely with our faculty and students to develop challenging climbing features, meet project deadlines, and fabricate a high-quality climbing boulder in a pleasant landscape setting next to our new Yellowstone Hall.
The Bozeman boulders are statuesque… They add an element of the mountain lifestyle to the valley. They introduce people who aren’t as familiar with that aspect, which is pretty special, and they allow people like myself to climb on lunch break.
